Sure will, at least you can buy it from Cdon.no. I checked that out (the .se version of the site) a while ago, because I'm from the same part of the world (Sweden). ;D

Keeping myself busy with other albums albums and christmas music at this time, so I won't succumb to any poor quality leaks. What's the bitrate of the iTunes-bought version?

Owen, dude... Why do you always make your recordings so cluttered? This one sounds like it changed hands a few times. The core of your songs are always really good but you seem to enjoy adding a lot of distracting stuff. It sounds like you record 2 versions of songs layered on top of each other.

Is it you doubting that your looped works will translate into interesting recordings?

In particular I find The Great Elsewhere distracts from itself. The ending is very nice though...

On the plus side, your voice sounds nice with those reverbs! Sorry if I sound like a dick or something I just like giving you a hard time because i see great promise in your output.

So far as I know, iTunes sells AAC (.m4a) files at around 256 kbps quality, so, for a lossy format, it's about as good as it gets.

Also, fuck it, I need to finish this paper on Milton stat, so I am dangling the leak of Heartland in front of myself like it is the juiciest and crunchiest carrot in the universe. My work output is now going to increase at least tenfold. I am a genius.

For me, its like listening to reworks of new song. all the distracting stuff is like atmosphere. little bits of kitchy ornaments in your grandma's living room. I find Lewis / Shirt is the weirdest one for a new version. The rise and fall shit is fine, but from the I'm Never Gonna Give it To You! it should just be on 11 from there on in. its kindof a big tease. But Great Elsewhere sounds like a different song, and I like it.

I was completely surprised when Red Sun came on and it turned into a kinda dancey electro pop song with daddy issues. The drums and percussion is just not what I was expecting what so ever. I completely accept them, tho. I want owen to tour a la Dan Deacon/Music for 18 Musicians style. 4 peeps on synths, 2 drummers, and a 18 piece orchestra.

I think you raise a really good point about looped songs -> actual songs.

its also really weird to listen alot of a certain composer/producer (Nico Muhly) and hear his touches all over the album. I listen to Lewis / Shirt and those horns are branded "Nico Muhly ltd." It would be funny if I was wrong, and it was like "Rusty did the horns."

I'm sorry if someone's already asked this, but When I tried to buy Heartland from i-tunes today, a message keeps popping up saying it's no longer available or perhaps has moved to somewhere else in the store--?? Where would it have moved to? If I search Owen Pallett, it brings me back again to the same place. I really want this album! Has anyone else had this happen?

Did itunesUS realize their error and remove it from their shop? If so, they would be better off returning it so people can legally get it if, as has been reported, its already out there for free.

Preferably they say "oops we fucked up" and give Owen a super xmas bonus delivered by Steve Jobs (who should be dressed in his PJs wrapped/tied up in ribbon with a huge bow on him a la Christmas Vacation).

Oh, and they should release it on itunes Can so I can buy it and listen to it while I'm driving all over hellshalfacre this christmas prior to my vinyl arriving.

Maybe they fixed it; I bought it about an hour after it was put up, and just searched him, Heartland, buy album, so maybe so. It should be on a million leaked music sites by now, but if not, I can aid you.

Kind of lame that itunes made (and seem to regularly make) such fundamental errors. But whatever, so far it's sounding brilliant. This is a good excuse to preorder the vinyl now

Since it's no longer available (and apparently never was in France), I patiently wait for the official release. So I'd better stop reading this thread or it is going to be the longest wait ever....
