From the site (http://www.atpfestival.com/votehere/login.php5) we have chosen 15 bands from the list that are within our remaining budget. Everyone now has a chance to vote once for the band they most want to see play from the list. This was the outcome: * Final Fantasy * Why? * Of Montreal * Oxes * The Blood Brothers * Part Chimp * Hella * Casiotone For The Painfully Alone * Jeffrey Lewis * The Wrens * Minus The Bear * Envy * Future of The Left * Tuung * Scout Niblett So come on Owen, You'll be being asked around now, so you know what to say.... Yes. Any one going to ATP Vs The Fans?

I am I am. ATP always makes for the dreamiest weekend ever.
And I've been checking the website every ten minutes but there's nothing there yet of whether he's said yes or not. Gahhh.

I can't do it! I'm in the studio. Also.. we're already flying overseas so much this summer...
I don't know if they've contacted Susanne about it yet but I really can't. I can't! New EP is more important.

Making a new EP is pretty much the most valid excuse imaginable, though.
EXCITING.

*sighs. I knew that would be the answer. Always letting us down The beats version of Dream of is quality btw. I've not been to ATP before hello. Have you been to any at Minehead? I take it I'm in for a treat. The line up has really shaped up. Not camping will be strange but I imagine an enjoyable experience. Any tips?

The EP is going to be called "Spectrum, 14th Century" but I think I've already told you that.
I'm having a lot of trouble writing it! We start recording on May 10th and I'm still finishing up the lyrics! The song titles are tentatively as follows:
1. Blue Imelda 2. The Butcher 3. ? 4. Scandal In The Parkade 5. Mount Alpentine 6. Letter To Final Fantasy
I played Blue Imelda at the Brampton Indie Arts Festival to a smattering of applause. The Butcher I mumbled through in Kingston and Wakefield a couple of weeks ago. "?" is an instrumental and will have a good title. Scandal At The Parkade has been played a couple of times and was referred to as "Bass Hit". Mount Alpentine and Letter To Final Fantasy are both songs I can play live but I haven't yet... they're both a tad low-energy so I've never felt like it.
This EP is a collection of folk songs from the fictional kingdom of Spectrum. As a result, they are somewhat... bawdy. Lots of crude words. For example:
Blue Imelda, she's the saddest bitch in all of Spectrum She can't rely on business to keep herself satisfied For we are only farmers and the love of a farmer Has one eye on the pussy and the other on the plough
Eeee! I hope this shit doesn't get me in trouble. Hmmmmm...

Wait... if ATP is a no, is Latitude off as well, despite all the netplaces in which Owen's touted to be there?
Oh and EDIT: EP EP EP. This is good news, yes yes.

Latitude and Manchester Film Festival are confirmed dates. You know even thought this is Owen's own forum, it still feels such a great gesture when he pokes his head round the corner and let's us all know about his recording plans and little bits of info about where he is at and what's going on. I'm very excited about the new recordings and hope we get some of the new stuff when he plays in July

Thank you, jules. Although I could do without the "What Kind Of Animal Is Owen?" thread and stuff like that, it's my absolute pleasure to log in every week and read about everybody's deepest feelings. It's also my own way of holding off on updating the website, ha!
And I promise that if you start dissing me, I'll respond and discuss instead of writing a "I'm quitting music!" press release.
Latitude is a go, by the way.
