hmmm.... from what I've heard, I've not been blown away. I love love love the live version of Intervention that has been floating around from KCRW (I've even been able to get away with playing it in my dj sets for the hipster kids who think Fall Out Boy is great indie music), but the studio version was... disappointing. Don't get me wrong, I like the organ, but I feel like it totally overpowers the track. I like the percussion in the live version.
I do like the version of No Cars Go.
I haven't listened to all of it yet, so I can't really formulate a full opinion yet.

Finally heard a decent quality version of the album, and it sounds fantastic (really nice arrangements throughout, but especially in NCG and Windowsill). The shows last week were stunning too, although they would have been improved with the addition of Mr Pallett. Marika was good but she looks - understandably - like she's taking a while getting used to being onstage with that powerhouse of a band.

It would have been improved if Final Fantasy had been able to play as well, that would have been perfect. Marika and Colin did just fine and it won't be long before they get used to where they are playing now. It was good to finally see Pietro play with them as well. One day maybe the whole extended family arcade fire will get to play on stage together in europe. That would be nice.

Marika walked past me afterward, and because I'm so bad with faces (even though I just watched her for over an hour) I just smiled. I missed out on her autograph

I love Neon Bible. I want to see AF live soooo badly. Owen, if you tour with them again, definitely put in a good word for Canada's east coast!

All honestly I prefer the original version of No Cars Go. It seems to have lost something with the increase in scale.

'No Cars Go' is the best song on Neon Bible. No way is it as good as Funeral but it isn't that bad as a second album as a whole.
I mean, look at the Killers second album. That was terrible!
Patrick Wolf is supporting Arcade Fire this year on tour, not Owen. Sigh.

Awww! I was really hoping that Owen was going to be with AF (at least in Toronto, when I go ) I liked Neon Bible. Yeah, it's not as good as Funeral was. But then again, Funeral was the closest thing to a masterpiece I've ever heard. I don't mind No Cars Go. I like both versions equally.

I dig the albums, but I imagine Arcade Fire must be absolutely phenomenal live, from the recordings I've seen. (Particularly LaBlogotheque's new take-away show. SO GOOD. Percussive magazine-ripping in an elevator for the win.) TANGENT: Talking of which, they did a neat performance of the Clash's "Guns of Brixton" on BBC's Culture Show, along with a mini-interview/documentary thing, and I'm pretty certain I recognised one of the fans they interviewed from the FF gig at the Scala last year - whom I also think is on here? So... that was geeky.

So... that was geeky. That was Adam (Citizen_Meh on UKK). I was lucky not to be there when they were recording as I would have probably said something very fanboy, like I've seen them 11 times already and there sort of good and things. Fangirl Fiona (hi F) did managed to say that she'd seen them 8 times since May 2005 and she's been really uber fan and flying off to the states to see them just to catch up. Hmm......that's more than the 9 times I've seen Open Wallet or does him playing second fiddle also count as that would even the score.

Poor Mr. Wolf is overwhelmed with the amount of publicity he got. Funny enough, he was begging for it, saying he was ready to be the new Britney Spears.

I think it's more the publicity and comments he got over the drummer incident and I can understand why he reacted as he did. I hope that he changes his mind.
