Arcade Fire: Neon Bible

Well I assume everyone knows Owen records and sometimes tours with The Arcade Fire. I hadn't seen any topics discussing the new album. Well it's called Neon Bible and you can see the artwork on www.arcadefire.net I also got the tracklisting and tour dates (which are NOT with Owen from what I've heard) Owen was a part of recording this one too, which I beleive is common knowledge between Arcade Fire fans and Final Fantasy fans alike.

Nope. I'm not playing any dates this year with Arcade Fire.

In the future, I definitely hope so! But all the touring in 2006 burnt me out. I need to take some time to practise and do some writing.

They are playing 9 dates in london. I'd be sad if I didn't live in London. I suppose it is much easier (also read cheaper) to stick to a couple of venues.

Let's hope they play glasto.

Owen, im just curious, which songs did you do work on?

Owen played with them the last 2 nights at the Canterbury and secret shows. Must have been fun.

Query: someone said there was another violinist (as well as Sarah and Owen) so have they got someone to cover for the tour, is info dud? oh and who is it? and Pietro played. Yeah Love that guy, hope he makes the tour.

There is a "new" violist, although she played on the record as well. Her name is Marika and she's extremely talented.

Pietro and I can't tour with AF because Pietro is too busy with his own band Torngat. If any of you have heard Torngat, you'll understand.

Regine and I co-wrote orchestral parts on Black Mirror and No Cars Go. There were also string sessions with me, Sarah, Marika, Richard and a cellist who's name slips my mind this morning. We did strings on all the other album tracks, except Keep The Car Running.

Shame about Pietro. I knew they were looking for a label to release their new stuff on sometime in the spring. Is that something for Blocks or have they got sorted already?

La Rouge was a great album and if you can get a copy of Live at the Bread Factory or the 1st album the you will be rewarded . You can get some mp3 clips from their website here www.torngat.ca/recordings.htm (not you Owen everyone else).

Love to see them live one day. One day maybe if I'm really lucky.

Glad you had fun at the show and a well deserved hangover based on the recording. I hope someone taped your set as well, but somehow I guess that just too much to ask for.

Oh God, Neon Bible is so good that I'm having the most difficult time writing the album review. It's actually physically painful for me to write it, because I feel so completely underqualified to intelligently write about it. I'll never be able to do it justice.

The release date for the album is March 6th, but it leaked on the internet sometime in the past few days. I must admit that I've buckled under the pressure and snagged it, but I have my copy on pre-order as well. And damn, No Cars Go sounds damn GOOD! As well as the rest of it, of course. The strings are superb.

Ha! Did you read that Billboard review of the album? The guy says that "No Cars Go" demonstrates clear evolution from Funeral. You'd think a magazine as big as Billboard could afford to do some fact-checking, like, oh, I don't know, maybe looking into the fact that "No Cars Go" is from their first EP?

Oh, and hey kakeeman, did you pre-order the deluxe edition from the Merge website? Everyone should; it's well worth the $15. It comes in a box with a 32-page art book that was designed by the band. Plus, Merge is an incredible label and deserves the support.
