"Syd Butler of Les Savy Fav, Dan Boeckner and Hadji Bakara of Wolf Parade, and Nick Diamonds (Thorburn) are all playing together under the name “Internet.” "
That's being reported in several places. Was the thing about Owen and Kado being in a thing called "Internet" a joke? If not, this is kinda weird.

yea, i guess it was only a matter of time until someone used The Internet as a name. That discussion was pretty cool though, musical interviews are usually pretty lame but Owen and Steve both have unique and interesting styles of thinking.

I've already contacted Hadji and Nick about their usage of a bandname, already claimed.
If they refuse to back down, Steve and I will simply rename our band: Islands.

Say, Owen, if you are reading this: what are YOUR thoughts on the way the event went?

Thanks for the links, but do you know if there's any more? It continued on for a good while after Part 5 ends. I was actually really hoping to get to the Q&A bit where Owen talks about classical music.

No you see it's just "Internet". There's no The or Band in it so its still okay.

It doesn't matter. Nobody tells Nick what to do. Not even Nick. He just can't control himself.
I'm pretty sure that the Montreal version of Internet contains no screaming, role-playing, dice-rolling or usage of props. So who cares?

god! i'm so jealous!!! please, please let there be a recording of this available!!! does anyone know if there's a music co-op similar to blocks in vancouver? i'm hideously broke & pathetic at organizing but i wanna DO something for all my musician friends! (sucha nerd!!) Everyone seems to be in their own little camps out here in Vancouver; I think the best you can do is to support local bands by attending, buying their demos when you can, etc. And a lot of bands simply appreciate having a helping hand to set up/sell merch. Blocks is great, and is the culmination of a whole scene helping each other out, but I'm not sure Vancouver's there yet.
