You'll all be aware by now that Owen has been covering Interview by Simon Bookish recently and was raving about the album a while back.
Well Simon Bookish has sent me a couple of signed copies of the album which has yet to be released... and it’s the swirling travelogue of spoken narrative, subliminal meandering verse and psychotic electronic chaos that I so hoped it would be.
Having seen one of its rare public outings when Simon Bookish supported Final Fantasy way back in May, it was making me pretty nervous that it wouldn't transpose to disc.
Live its art as experimental improvisational sound that transports you on a journey of contrasting surreal images blending together to form a narrative line. At the core is the theme of transportation, but in projections full of imagery and ideas.
We bless him; Simon Bookish has creative genius and has successfully deposited it onto disc. From the opening pulse and ha that set off the throbbing Theme (Mercator Projection) to the communal tones of Long Haul that closes the piece, your taken on a journey that never lets go, that draws you in and just when you feel settled moves off at another angle dragging you along with it.
It is really rather good, exceptionally engaging and its very bright like a cartoon.
Anyway now that you've got this far you may be interested in getting one of these signed copies. I want them to go to good homes (pun intended) so I thought it only fair to set a question that is so easy I'll have to set a tie breaker so ....
On what album do Owen and Simon both get namechecks? Send me a pm and I'll let you know the results in a weeks time.
This offer is open to anyone, anywhere and I'll pick up the postage.
