I read Owen's "testimony" of his European tour and how some people were expressing some sort of "anger" (well, not that strong a feeling, but something around those lines) about those and the fact that it "breaks the mood"...
I think that they show and even enlighten further more Owen's talent!!!
Owen, really, as soon that the first sound comes out of your violin you manage to drag us with you is that universe of yours, and even though your "banters" get us all quickly back on the ground and remind us of the fact we're in a certain venue at a certain gig, you drag us back again when the next song starts... not matter how much or how hard you made us laugh a few seconds earlier!!!
Not many artists manage to have that effect on me, and those are the ones I'll try to see live as many times as possible!!!

That's nice of you to say, Anne. I usually just try and say a couple of things so people don't take it so seriously.
I listened to a recording of the show last October in Vendome. WOW my French is HORRIBLE!!!! It sounds pandering and terrible.

I like goofy stuff between songs. It kinda makes the whole experience more enjoyable and sometimes more personal. Instead of having someone go up and stiffly perform, bow, and leave, it feels like the artist is hanging out with you. Makes things more comfortable for the audience, and even for the artist (when there's a nice response, at least). I try to do that and loosen things up when I play.
Of course I've never technically seen Final Fantasy live, but I got a good idea by watching Owen and the audience's reactions on the live video I've seen.

I totally agree with Anne on the pull from one differing emotion to the next. If an artist can pull that off, I'm sold.
On the French: I covered an Edith Piaf song in a performance once, and my francophone friend said he couldnt understand what I was saying half the time because my French is so bad. I was really embarrassed. My Lesson: Don't perform songs in languages I am not fluent in.
