Or buy a Plan B magazine!
Also, again, apologies for any unreturned e-mails. They DO stack up when you don't have access. I hope to have them all dealt with by Christmas.

yayyyy
Gweneth Paltrow has heard of you? you're a Famous McFamerson! not really though.
i wish i could send all of us who hate Americas decisions to foreign soil so we can explain that we hate it as much as they do. we're a good 40% of the country's population and we truly hate our government.

Most leftist Americans I've met are certainly more active than, say, your average activist Canadian.
But come on. George Bush is a sitting duck. I'm surprised he hasn't been put in jail. Somebody with the legal knowledge should take the initiative.

The criticism those people were giving you about alienating your audience was cracking me up. It amazes me how a performance can make some people feel totally alienated and others feel completely drawn in.
As for U.S. piggotry (yes, that is a neologism, and no, I don't care), laws are only as effective as the money backing them. Bush and Co. have all the money; therefore the U.S. legal system is their playground. We really aren't nearly as free as we're (and the rest of the world) is led to believe. We just believe the hype because we're told from birth that we live in the Land of Freedom and Justice.
What can you do about it? A huge part of me feels that Revolution is a thing of the past.

the titch section made my day. i haven't been around for quite a while and well i've never posted something here although i did register like some month ago.. it's really nice to read the sort of "diary" and i had to laugh out loud about some german things like this sentence : The exchange between German and Canadian languages is in full bloom, and new words drift about: ausfahrt, korrecte-scheisse, cheesy, flirting. ha ha korrekte scheiße.. that something only philipp could say ha ha. and that makes me laugh. and does it really say "no more brötchen anymore" on the start page. i've been to the show in berlin and recorded the show .. it only need to be filtered a little bit. i also made some photos and videos i think two or three and they are unfortunately each only 30 sec. also i talked to owen before the show... don't know if he remembers me ... well he was tired and bored and we talked and he started to look through that one music mag and i translated a review of wolf parade's record and yeah it was very very nice. thanks

I'm not going to tell you not to feel embarrassed because you have the right to your feelings. But I'm not embarrassed to be an American. The whole concept of nationalism or anti-nationalism is so absurd: people can't help where they're born and raised any more than they can help when they were born or who their parents are. Sure, I'm frustrated with the situation, and with many of my countrymen and the powers that be, but I'm not going to allow any of that to define who I am as a person. All governments are corrupt; ours is just richer and more powerful, so the corruption is more overt and globally devastating. Every world power in history has fucked the rest of the globe over, but that didn't mean that all of their citizens were therefore evil or shameful.

The pleasure is mine.
The tour diary is a vague rip-off of "Cortes and Montezuma" by Donald Barthelme.
Sorry, by the way, Sean, I've been deep in the depths of music notation for the last few weeks so I haven't finished the Ustvolskaya thing. It's hard to find MP3s. I'll find some way of getting into the U of T music library and ripping some tracks or something.

For the liner notes of the next album you should imitate "Under the Volcano" by Malcom Lowry.
