I was at the concert yesterday and it was absolutely amazing! <3 This was my first Owen concert and it was every bit as great as I had hoped. Lots of new songs (I think I recognised Fire-Mare, Lewis Gets Fucked Into Space and The Sound Of The Engines from the lyrics, not sure about the others), a wonderful version of Riverbed and only three or so solo songs (E Is For Enstranged, Dream of Win and Regine and Don't Let The Audience Die). Stargaze were also great and some of the song variations were really interesting (I didn't recognise The Great Elsewhere until Owen started singing, and Song For Five And Six and Passions were also great.) Too bad a lot (or even most) of the audience were probably only there because of the festival and the opportunity to get into the Elbphilharmonie, a lot of people seemed not very exited and a few even left early. But for me it was definitely worth the 8 hour train ride. <3

Glad you enjoyed it, it really was amazing!  Urgh yeah I did not understand that!! There were a lot of empty seats as well even though it was supposed to have sold out! The seat they gave me was up in one of the side balconies and there were lots of empty spaces down the front... but oh well, at least I got to experience things from a new angle  I'm still in awe - the show was so so beautiful and the venue was amazing as well! It was my 4th time seeing him play Island songs with Stargaze and each show keeps getting better <3 This one was quite different to Berlin/Essen - Owen played the guitar and violin and there were no synths/piano or percussion, everything was slower and more acoustic (similar to the versions he'd been playing earlier this year if anyone heard the clips). I'm so happy I finally got to hear them all in full, they sounded so gorgeous. Especially Polar Vortex which is my favourite song in the whole world, the new version is 1000x more beautiful and made me cry <3 And I finally got to hear Fire Mare in full! It's a shame he didn't play Vengeance this time though, I hope it hasn't been scrapped - it was one of my favourites! The old songs he did with Stargaze were all new slow/acoustic versions as well. So jealous. I was out with family doing stuff so never had the chance to see the feed. I hope it’s not too long before music is ready for release and more live dates.

Aww, it's a shame you missed it!  I have an audio recording which I'll upload when I get a chance (probably later this week)  I finally got an iphone after the last tour so I could make better recordings I took some video clips as well but the video camera on my phone pauses audio recordings so I had to use the snapchat camera which is limited to 10 seconds. I realised afterwards that I can take consecutive videos and save them as one (which I accidentally did during the Great Elsewhere), I wish I'd realised at the time! So I have a ton of 10 second long videos I checked with Owen and he said it was fine for me to share recordings of this show online. I've uploaded the audio recording - it's turned out a bit quiet and there's a lot of noise whenever I moved or picked up my phone (which I shouldn't have done, woops!) PM me if you'd like a link. |

Slightly melancholy but utterly brilliant with a grand flourish at the end with The Great Elsewhere. Then the drawn out slow ending to Emma/Cam (bliss) oh and what a lovely auditorium. PS.. when's the album out |
