And another review - this time from Uncut magazine in the UK. Stop me if no-one cares...
Final Fantasy - Has A Good Home 3/5 by Stephen Trousse
Avant-kooky chamber-pop from Montreal's one man string section
Owen Pallet's multi-instrumental ability has led him to contribute to pretty much every group that's emerged recently from Montreal, from his own Les Mouches to The Arcade Fire. Born out of a desire to write "pretty pop", (rather than "screaming about cocks"), Final Fantasy is a solo project pitched midway between Joanna Newsom and early Divine Comedy, and Has A Good Home is a spectacular, if self-consciously kooky, debut. The pick is "The Dream of Win and Regine", which cuts up and multi-tracks violin and brass to forge a sparkling laptop chamber-pop.
