Oh, wow. This is really great, but yeah, I like the Xiu version a lot more.

i find the first few guitar ripps really repulsive i also think he's kind of trying to sound like david bowie? i really like the way jamie is almost like, frantic or something (it feels urgent) in the way he sings the song. i also think thom yorke is kind of lame in most things.

OK, while i actually enjoyed Control when i saw it, I'm saddened by it as well... now every band who feels they need to prove something or maintain their indie cred is going to be covering ian curtis's music, and more of this bile is going to start flooding the internet :-(

radiohead. definitely. no doubt. nothing against xiu xiu. i still love them the same as i did before the drama. but seriously. radiohead's cover i sincerely enjoy more.
wait. actually. xiu xiu's is just as good.
okay wait. it's a tie. it's just that i haven't listened to xiu xiu in a long time but now i'm starting to remember jamie's version. both are amazing in their different ways.

Sorry miranda, but we're going to have to agree to disagree. Xiu xiu's version is unique; it sounds like xiu xiu while still respecting the original... Radiohead's version is an uninspired, unoriginal version that just follows the basic musical arrangements of the original and adds nothing unique/interesting. I have nothing against radiohead - i still think OK Computer was one of the best albums of the nineties (behind Loveless & in the aeroplane over the sea, of course), but this cover was simply an attempt to maintain validity thanks to the recent boost in popularity of ian curtis amongst hipsters thanks to the release of control

you know what. come to think of it, you're right.
i'm just biased 'cause radiohead are my number one favourite band.
but in retrospect as of five minutes ago, of course... i gotta agree with you this time and change my mind.
