thanks for posting this... the first time i ever saw the xiu live, it was jamie's solo tour just after their equipment was stolen, and jamie played this song there... it was a long time before the album or even the insound split with jim yoshi, so i don't think the song had been fully fleshed out yet, so he just played the guitar without any other accompaniment... kinda like this... even though i didn't know the song yet (i had already devoured knife play, chapel, & a promise), it was my favorite part of the short set
for those of you who weren't lucky enough to see the tours, this is pretty close to what jamie's solo tours were like... not necessarily better than the current incarnation, but beautiful nonetheless
this also remings me... around that time, there was also the greatest misheard xiu xiu lyric yet due to someone transcribing this song from a poor live recording... "no sex in the spa" instead of "no sexiness but"... when jamie saw the line, he said he kind of liked it more than the line he had written :-)

i don't know if he's doing a full on tour, but he's doing a few solo shows in june. i know for sure there's on in san francisco and one in seattle. with shearwater. if anyone knows any more about this they should post it?
