Hearing ceremony was amazing, since I had only heard rumors of it being played. I also met up with Kevin there ("you wouldn't happen to be byron, would you?") and it was definetly the best set I've seen. Xiu Xiu was meant to have a drummer. I was also properly introduced to casiotone, and now I am the proud owner of two cd's and a shirt.

unsure of order, but the baltimore show was pretty close to this:
sad pony bishop, ca ceremony i broke up (WOW) sad redux-o-grapher (ches transcribed the synth to xylophone?!!) wig master yellow raspberry boy soprano (much harder/tighter/accurate than fall version) fox & the rabbit crank heart (AMAZING with drums) buzzsaw fabulous muscles (first time seeing this live, FINALLY)
this was my 3rd xiu show. they are playing so tightly now, and caralee only smirked at the cat-calling once. i cant believe ches learned all of sad redux on the xylophone, that was most definitely the highlight song for moi

I think Ches should always tour with Xiu Xiu, he adds so much. I'm kinda dissapointed they didn't play Muppet Face and I was also upset with the assholes that were there. He was about to start Fabulous Muscles and then some bitches phone kept ringing and he told her nicely, for the second time, to get off the stage and turn off the phone, but she refused and then she said "fuck you" and that got me so pissed. And then when she finally shut up he says "this is the last song thanks to those fucking douchebags (gives them the middle finger)". Jamie, if you read this, don't let those retards represent your opinion on Pennsylvania, we need you! But yes, definitely better than the fall show.

And now for the end of the tour... So weird that this one began and ended in l.a. rather than s.f. d2 was right. The songs are a lot less tight than at the beginning, and it definitely improved some songs (for example, i didn't like the new sad pony originally, but i really liked it tonight). And for those of you who didn't get a chance to see katie eastburn, she was amazing. Her voice is so perfect for her post-americana (or whatever the hell they call her style). That version of 'maybe this time" was gorgeous. Anyways, here's the xiu's setlist: -sad pony guerilla girl -bishop, ca -ceremony -sad redux o grapher (damn. Ches' work on this one is still shockingly good) -i broke up (w/ caralee yelling instead of jamie) -yellow raspberry (am i the only one who has trouble not laughing out loud at the line "you became a faggot, just like a little bunny" no matter how many times i hear it?) -wig master (again, caralee, although she was a little lost in the mix, and it was hard to make out the words) -fox and the rabbit (slowly becoming another new favourite after this tour) -buzz saw -crank heart -boy soprano -fabulous muscles (thanks, sithie. You've taken the mystery out of it. I saw him put a capo on the third, and i knew ) another amazing set, and it was nice to meet robert, a childhood friend of jamie's and with that, i'm going to bed. If there are typos, i apologize. I just typed this on my phone, and i'm too lazy to edit

That version of 'maybe this time" was gorgeous. really? i wasn't a fan of hers at all. i dont know if it was just the fact that at the seattle show, EVERYTHING was taking forever to happen (bands taking forever to start, doing full-on soundchecks during the show, playing longer sets than they were supposed to--xiu xiu didnt come on until 12:30) but i thought that she was pretty lackluster. her voice kind of seemed to be getting flat alot, and everyone i was around said that her work in young people was completely different and better. but xiu xiu was great!
