songs that have been binge listened to by me (off the top of my head) in order
-i broke up (when i first discovered the xiu) -hives hives (when i was working on a performance art piece for a dance class) -king earth king earth (fag patrol version... i was working out the lyrics for the now defunct fansite, and there were no lyrics around for this puppy until i finally worked out some basics and sent them to jamie for correction, so i don't know if it counts as binge, but i definitely listened over and over and over) -sad redux-o-grapher (although it's hard to listen to this one now... and this is probably my loudest xiu moment: "he said 'it did not cost you anything'") -baby captain -save me save me (mainly because i was trying to figure out the chorus after i heard "and you cut yourself" one day... fortunately joe posted the lyrics, so i stopped)
i'm sure there are more, but those are the ones i remember for obvious reasons... the most binge listening in the past year was "stolen children" by the parenthetical girls, though... no reason for that, other than that it's one of the most heart-wrenching songs ever written

apistat commander
when a promise came out i used to listen to it nonstop all day for months. whenever i was at home it was constantly on. i love every xiu xiu album but apistat commanders "OH MY GOD" still makes my veins turn into electric eels. ive had that song on repeat for entire days. i used to say my prayers every night when i was a kid and my parents raised me catholic so i guess the song sort of reminds me of revelations. it defiantly reminds me of absolute terror though. thats sounds stupid. i just mean the emptiness of being alone with yourself but never feeling alone. my favorite xiu xiu song for sure.
