Dublave: Thx for the info. Aztecs, Wahhol, 9/11; the higher the concept, the better!
This show, I really liked the vocal stylings used; vaguely "jazzy/mid-eastern" scale-based, close harmony, and edgy delivery over top of polyrhythmic instrumentals. Can't wait for them to get some of that on album (if haven't already).
Asshat: Yah, the noise from downstairs was maddening; spoiled a couple of moments for everyone playing. Ches was admirable. Did you get/like his full-length?
2(Xiu) were amazing live, but was bummed that we didn't even get one encore, despite the warm crowd response. Wonder if they were pissed off, or sick, etc.? (Jamie was gargling repeatedly w some concoction onstage...)

I actually saw him preparing the thing just before taking to the stage, at the counter where soundboard was set up. A boiling kettle, brownish liquid, and v. viscous honey (he had to suck this out of the bottle)were involved. Hot iced tea? Boiling mulled sweet beer? Gotta get those pipes *just right*...
