I loved the first album, and I still think it's a fantastic album - but I have so over-listened to it it's not funny. It's a CD I recognise that I really like, but have no desire to listen to it.
Antics, on the other hand, was pretty disappointing. The music was very tight, but the album as a whole felt a bit soulless. Take You On A Cruise still does it for me though.
About the Joy Division comparison, I can kind of hear it, and I used to be able to hear it more. I can see where people are coming from, and hear the influence, but definitely don't think they are stealing anything from Joy Division.

i hate interpol kind of....there was this kid who used to have a crush on me who was super obsessed with them. he used be really nice but then he became an alcoholic and an asshole.

perhaps one of the main reasons why my bfs usually have a completely different (terrible) taste in music. although the longest relation i actually had was a complete xx-slut. did not spoil my apetite though.
