I think it's really telling when both vegans and meat eaters get defensive about thier choice on whether or not to eat animal products or animals. You get your vegans who feel the need to make faces and UHG sounds whenever they see someone eating meat and more often, you get the omnis who seem to take vegans' personal dietary lifestyle as a personal attack and can't coexist with them without trying to justify thier meat eating at every turn. Often this takes the form of personal attacks. I'm vegan, and while I do think that the eating of meat and consumption of animal products is wrong, but it doesn't mean I have to destroy every relationship I have with people who haven't come to the same conclusion as I have.
Also, I feel it necessary to point out that as long as you are active in choosing a variety of foods to put inside your body, there's not a real reason vegans should be lacking in any nutrient. I think the people who claim that thier flirtation with vegan diets lead to aenemia or general sickliness were likey just subsisting on red vines and root beer anyway.

every time i watch _strangelove_, i still find it hilarious... i showed a couple scenes to my students when we were discussing satire, and they didn't seem to find it as funny... oh well, their loss
and i love netflix as well... i just got ichi the killer in the mail, and i'm waiting for querelle
