how am i being unreasonably hostile? he wanted us to post a reply telling him if we liked it or not and i gave my opinion. when did xiu xiu fans become so fucking politically correct?
and for the record, i still think his cover sucks.

the interpretation was horrible in your opinion? that doesn't make ANY sense. i don't know you personally, but your reasons for not liking his cover are ridiculous and uncalled for.
i'm not crazy about the cover either, but i don't dislike it. why can't he cover a song that's so personal? jamie covered a smiths song, didn't he? (as someone else said on this thread)

wow some people should get their shit together
1. quit the PC bull, i don't see how expressing an opinion (for instance, thinking that a song is terrible) is a mark of disrespect, the guy posted a song and asked for feedback, not for hugs
2. people can relate to songs even though they didn't write it and they can end up feeling like playing it and making it their own (and that appropriation can't really be discussed since it's the singer's)
3. people who value songs & music by considering technique and instrument playing above all should leave this place and go listen to joe satriani records
