so there's this "bloodworm" guy who keeps posting weird links, and i keep deleting them, and i'm starting to get really annoyed... i emailed stu about him, and we've banned his IP address, but that doesn't always work... stu suggested setting the board so only registered users can post... it was that way for a short period all over shzine, but then it was changed back... but it turns out we can set only the xiu xiu board that way, hopefully preventing these annoying spammers... however, some of you seem to prefer to post without being registered for whatever personal reasons you have... which do you prefer?

i like anonymous. and, you would have to be really devoted to get around an IP ban just to keep spamming a xiu xiu board.
it's possible but not likely.

I like locked boards.
however, i think it should only be locked if guests can still read the board, just that they can't post.

i'm pretty sure people who aren't registered can still read, but only registered members can post...
it's not that big a deal, really, but spammers annoy the fuck out of me for some reason... there i am, checking my daily websites (this board is #2, after email), completely unsuspecting, when suddenly i'm attacked by a large collection of weird ass numbers/symbols that link to strange asian blogs that ask me to download chinese characters... i'm not "down with it" as the kids these days say...
that, and i prefer locked boards for some reason... well, i'll let this thread run for another day or two, and if it changes, it'll probably happen monday

i like the idea of saying things over the internet without the concepts of seniority or coming-out or reputation. it's even better when it's completely optional.
i check this board pretty often and i've never noticed spam, but if it really is a problem and you really are that on top of it, then it's your call.
.. all of my gmail spam is in japanese, i don't know why. i still click the links too, because i get to look at little gif animations and huge pink webdesigns.

i usually delete the posts as soon as i see them, and i tend to check the forum randomly throughout the day (lately it's been slow, but shortly after some big tours, this board gets a lot of traffic)... usually it's not a big deal, but in the last week, i've deleted at least 10 of 'em
