as I look through my cd collection I can really say that I'm sick of everything I have. Even my xiu xiu stuff seems old to me now. I know I just need a few new bands to get me out of this funk, so will you please suggest to me a few bands to check out? I know that there is another thread like this but those are bands for if you like xiu xiu, which i do I'm just not in the mood for xiu xiu-esque stuff right now, or i dont think. Suggest away, please

the whole 'primitive' music monicre is funny...i don't get Gang Gang Dance.... (yet) but Animal Collective are grrreat..Did you see them live first or hear a recording? because I bet it would make a huge difference...

he's not new, but, ive been listening to Cass McCombs (i don't know the album name but it has the songs "i went to the hospital" and "bobby, king of boys town" on it) and The Gossip (Standing In The Way Of Control; not xiuxiu-esque at all) ...also i saw this band on saturday night live who i had previously read about in SPIN called the arctic monkeys who i liked. but thats more "on the charts" than some of the suggestions made by other people before me.
