seriously. the brantford show. did anywhere here go? does anyone remember singing freddy ruppert happy birthday?

they ALWAYS sing happy birthday to freddy... it's a joke there was a drunk girl last time Xiu Xiu was at the Troubadour...but NOTHING to this effect. This is just crazily weird. But humorous at the same time. I hope it didn't ruin the show too much... actually, it was still a really amazing set... she was annoying, but it was mostly humourous, so it wasn't too terrible |

Shout out to the Brantford show this summer. We drove from Peterborough to catch it. It was the sweatiest concert experience of my life. Beautiful little venue and Tim Ford is a very, very nice person.
I am shocked and also humoured by the Freddy Happy Birthday scam.
The version of Hives Hives that night was beautiful.

I was at the Duke Coffee House show and there was no happy birthday to freddy there, so could it have possibly been his birthday that night  ? But we did get a guy scream "YOU ARE THE WORST BAND EVER" durring the Dead Science set, which led to Jamie standing on stage calling the guy out for about 5 minutes after their set was done. And after Xiu Xiu finished playing, no one really left so they came back out and played an extremly fast version of helsabot with both Jamie and Caralee singing as an encore. I wish I would have recorded it, it was fantastic. |

yeah that was hilarious. what a jackass. i think they hid in the bathroom a while once they knew jamie was calling him out.  i have a short video clip of that helsabot encore. i didnt share it because it is...uh...horizontal. and i don't know how to rotate video.  |

who cares. We don't need video, we want some audios. Just grab it and we're happy.
I wish they did more encores. At the DC show, we called for them, pretty much 150 people in unison for it. Funny about the dead science though. That man is marked.

I think the best part of the duke show was watching jamie and caralee play(maybe they were watching the dead science singer play I don't exactly remember) chess before the show started. That or the fans playing the Dr Laura board game and one guy declaring his total knowledge of all things Dr Laura.
