it was my very first xiu xiu show and it was amazing. we were literally front row center, on the baracade. i got to talk to jaime before the show and he is such a nice guy. i got number 85 of 400, of the colored vinyl. does anyone have the set though?

I don't think I'd like listening to Yellow Swans on record...but I'll see them again...esp at the Bottom Lounge. Holy crap dude they made my nose go numb!

i hated yellow swans. i didn't go to this concert, but i saw them in nyc last week and they were basically a tape sample looping, followed by increasingly loud bass tones that were unrecognizable, then a man in cowboy boots playing guitar that couldn't be heard, acting as if he were putting his heart and soul into it but nothing was coming out, then an andrew wk impersonater screaming into a microphone that i noticed wasn't even plugged in (i saw it with my own eyes!), then the noise fading out after 10 minutes and the tape loop sample being heard again as it died away, too. maybe i caught them on a bad night. any other 9/2 bowery goers think the same/different?

yellow swans destroyed both cambridge and bennington. i guess it's one of those things you either feel or you don't.

they were pretty great in LA at the Trubador (sp?) and i also enjoyed them in Philly at the Northstar, however the LA show was just mind bogglingly good

has the pink shirt wearing guy from yellow swans been doing that corny "i hate george bush" speech at all the shows or was it just nyc? it was more of a katrina speech in toronto, which I can get behind. but a word to preachers.....keep it short, if you pass the five minute mark in between songs, we the audience just think your drunk and dont put much weight to your speeches. also, loved frog eyes...hated their art fag friends who decided it would be a good idea to push their way up front, and dance on my feet. hate to be a killjoy, but being pushed so a guy could rub his crotch on stage just made the rest of the set a little annoying.

i was there. luckily, i was able to meet jamie before i got kicked out for being under 21. he wrote on my record sleeve: "Dear Samuel, Your tent will come to life and kill you. Be aware! Jamie Stewart" i thought the yellow swans were great...for a noise band.
