my 2nd best concert of all time.
setlist (not entirely sure after mf) was:
ale
suha
pox
bog people
brian the vampire
yellow raspberry
saturn
i luv the valley, oh!

sad pony guerilla girl (w/caralee for last refrain)
ENCORE: i broke up
highlights: -jamie was jamming out so hard during brian the vampire that he broke a string on his guitar. the emotion was borderline insane.
-suha
-jamie hit his drum during saturn in a way that it fell. he continued the rest of the song acapella, very odd, especially because he sang from " I will shoot this arrow right up your anus " to the end by himself.
-i threw the girl doll from the pox video at jamie, and it hit his leg. he then picked it up and put it on one of caralee's bells, which she later frantically had to remove to strike the right note
caralee later on told me that the doll looked familiar.
-yellow raspberry was amazing live, the drums came in about halfway through the song. it was slightly slower that the album version, it seemed. nice pace.
-the vibrator during the improv part in ale
-jamie's whispers during sad pony guerilla girl. instead of a shrill yell that got louder, he kept at a pretty constant, quiet squeal/yelp, as if a little girl was being raped while her mouth was being covered.
-getting to meet jamie and caralee afterwards.
-an encore of i broke up, which if not the first xiu xiu encore ever, i'm sure is very rare. the girls cheered for caralee a lot, very fun. jamie did a double take, "what's that? caralee?" when jamie yelled at the end of that oh so famous phrase, he basically deep throated the microphone
tshirts were the pink xiu xiu, a white tshirt with stuff on the sides, a crying maple leaf, the chinese go game, xiu mutha fuckin xiu, and a pink one with yellow....(couldn't make out) on it. photo scrapbooks, records, cds, pins, etc.
a real nice thing was that the lights went to the music, too. every single beat.
i'll try and put up some overly bassy audio recordings of the show later.
