music becomes less meaningful when xiu xiu becomes somthing desirable to a SOAD fan.   that's a stupid thing to say. not every xiu xiu fan only listens to music as meaningful and emotional and personal as xiu xiu. as a matter of fact, i just put on fag patrol. and what was i previously listening to? FISH HEADS. such a righteous song. |

Jaycub, you don't have to get hostile because people don't like the music you listen to. Come on, you listen to Xiu Xiu, you HAVE to be able to take comments like that. I don't know how many times I've heard, "Xiu Xiu (always pronounced incredibly wrong) fucking sucks."

FISH HEADS. such a righteous song. it was a very stupid thing to say, but he's got a point in saying that SOAD fans are, on a large scale, morons. That's not to say that SOAD aren't enjoyable from time to time. They've got awesome harmonies, pretty cool riffs and some excellent songs. If you don't dig it, fine, just don't quote the stigma of the band as your reason um, i havent ever met a person who even knows what xiu xiu is unless i was the one who introduced them to it. how did you hear about them then fool? |

as far as radio rock bands go, you could do a LOT worse than SOAD. at least their songs are structured kind of interestingly compared to the sludgey, miserable crap that's played the rest of the time.
and hella has been opening for them on their tour. hella. in big arenas. weird...
