I'm deeply curious about this song and keep hearing conflicting accounts about what its about, when it was made etc...
Doesn't it centre around the events of a party of something, with him coming home drunk and recording the track?
I've posted before under the name samw btw, I've registered properly now.

there was an interview done a few years ago, sometime around the solo tour he did supporting 'a promise' after the robbery, where he went into strong detail about the song its basically written about when jamie was deeply in love with a girl and he and the girl talked and realized that nothing could come of it, jamie got drunk, recorded the song in one take and thus created 'ian curtis wishlist'. an 'ian curtis wishlist' has something to do with all the things you wish you could do on impulse if i remember jamie correctly from that interview here's the link: www.bravenewwaves.ca/bnmedia/archive_i_xiuxiu.shtml |
