does jamie change the lyrics at all? i've been wondering about this for a LONG time, but never bothered asking anyone 'cause i just assumed it was the exact same lyrics.
... but where tracy says something about working at a convenience store, it sounds like jamie is saying something completely different.

Yes he does say something different in that line. He says he's been working at "East Side's Health and Children's Centre."
And instead of the line "You see, my old man's got a problem,
Lives with the bottle" he says "lives with prescription drugs."
Instead of "So I quit school and that's what I did"
he says "I quit life."

thank you so much. i thought he said 'east side's...' something. the first time i heard it i freaked out 'cause 'east side's' is a really personal thing to me, and i thought i was hearing things.

I presume that the East Side's Health and Childrens Centre is where he heard the story that Brain the Vampire is centred around... I like how a lot of Xiu Xiu songs have a central meaning, which is based in real life or just is details. (like how a load of their songs use real names in them..a lot of the time in the first line or two strangely enough.) Though that's not to say that I don't love their abstract songs too.  |

I always thought the school he mentioned was "East San Jose Child Development Center" or something to that effect. But, as I am unfamiliar with such things, I may have misheard.
