(sorry to not add this to the previous thread but it is too important a comment to have lost)
not to try to say anything i am not qualified to but, as a long time music journalist and former member of a band whose records you heard alot of in the 1980's, i have to say la foret is a record beyond doubt. it is pure and creative and by far the best thing xiu xiu has ever done. it has a subtle but overwhelming power and originality. if you have heard or read anything to the contrary it is point blank wrong. if you have listened once and did not get it, listen again and it will consume your life and heart. bravo xiu xiu! you are a band to be proud of.
