so, when i visited SF, i followed the map, of course. it is absolutely beautiful up there, and i highly suggest it to anyone heading out to SF. my friend took some pictures with his phone, and he finally sent them to me... i thought he took more pictures of the structure itself, but the only two he has are ones with me sitting on the steps... so, i figured i'd share... there's another thread about the view somewhere, but you won't really appreciate it unless you're up there... photos9.flickr.com/13727933_c7a1cd9448_o.jpg |

that's ok, the directions on the map are a bit outdated anyways. if you want, i can send you a scan of the map... somewhere in an old thread on here, i discussed how to get up there more easily... do a search and i'm sure it'll come up... or im me edit: ok, i found an old thread with a transcription of the directions here: shzine.proboards10.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=xiuxiu&thread=1086727043&page=1however, they tell you to park at battery wallace and walk to battery mendel... now, you can just drive a bit further and park in front of battery mendel. then just follow the directions from "climb the footpath" |
