for some hideous reason i can't feel fully excited about going to my first xiu xiu show in July, because all i can keep thinking is that i'm going to be there and it's going to be amazing and i'm going to feel happy, possibly meet jamie and caralee....then it's going to be over and i'm going to have to get in my car and drive home, alone, in silence, and get into bed, and sleep.....I don't know if my heart can handle so much dissapointment and anticlimax.
this always seems to happen to me. i go to a show, feel like i'm in another world, have a great time, then feel really lonely and disappointed on the drive home and have to go to fucking bed....
anyone else ever feel like this?

Yes I do, however got used to it. I'm always going to a show by myself. And everytime I can feel the animosity, dismay and jealousy rising up, seeing the number of dunces increase, accumulating in the very same room I am standing... anyway just stand up straight and nod your head now and then.

There's a club, if you'd like to go
you could meet somebody who really loves you
so you go, and you stand on your own
and you leave on your own
and you go home, and you cry
and you want to die

I took my friend who wasn't really into them. He kinda put a damper on the whole show. I would've rather gone alone. Feeling empty after a Xiu Xiu show is how it's meant to be.

going alone is the best way to really take in a show. some friends will bring you down cause' they just don't feel as strongly as you. no need to fret, especially for a xiu xiu event.

Try driving 500 miles to Austin, get back in the car, drive another couple hundred miles to Houston, get back in car and drive hundreds of miles home alone. It was all worth it though. I can't see myself going to a Xiu Xiu show with people, it would completely ruin the experience.
