for those of you who have been waiting patiently for the new xiu xiu fansite, there is finally news...


there is no xiu xiu fansite. what was previously believed to be a server giving us unlimited bandwidth has suddenly transformed into a server allowing extremely limited bandwidth. as in, no mp3's kind of limit, and a mb allowance in the double digits kind of limit.

considering the large number of files we have, and the even larger number of downloads that went through the old site, there is no way we could offer the site erez has been working on with the limit imposed on us by the old server

so, we need help

1- does anyone have any way to help us? server that can host perhaps?

2- if #1 is wishful thinking, there is a second option: paying for hosting. but if we did this, we would need financial support, as neither erez nor i can afford the high monthly fees to keep something like this running. would people be willing to donate funds to a pool to keep a xiu xiu fan site running? perhaps set up a fan club and charge for membership, as was briefly discussed in the past?

3- any other ideas?

Just start a band on soundclick "LIVE XIU XIU". They allow unlimited mp3 linking.

i'd be willing to pay as a member of the forum. or..

can we somehow link off the Xiu Xiu Official page itself, since that doesn't seem to have many videos or songs to take up a lot of space.
