A while back, Adult Swim released a song from Owen: soundcloud.com/adultswimsingles/owen-pallettOwen, would you be willing to share how this song came to be? Was it something you were commissioned for specifically, or was it something you had kicking around after In Conflict and looked for a place to release? It's curious to me that it sits separate from the rest of your song collections. |

It, and another song called "Contra O Capitalismo", were recorded between "Heartland" and "In Conflict", they were synth experiment songs that I was submitting for a film score. They ended up being in the film ("The Wait") but they didn't sit well on the OST, so I didn't include them, and decided to release them elsewhere. Those OSTs are being manufactured as we speak, by the by  |

The film ("The Wait") got panned and was ignored but I think it's extremely beautiful! And I'm so happy with the music in it... it and "Life" are two soundtracks I'm really, really happy with, and "Spaceship Earth" too, of course.

I found Life a bit slow as a movie, but the subject matter absolutely fascinating. Another soundtrack that Rheashenda said.., that sounds Owen ( she said it again when we watch Spaceship Earth the other day .. another great documentary film). I really don’t understand why The Wait got panned, it is a beautiful movie and a touching subject. I have the soundtrack of Her ( got one of the Oscar promo cd sets from my brother ) and The Box from some site a few years ago ( can’t remember now). Still play them and 14 Actors as part of my soundtrack playlist. It would be great if these all became more widely available.. oh and ...Any chance you’ll be able to issue your Concerto played by Pekka Kuusisto back in 2012. |
