While we wait for the remastered albums, I've been relistening to them a lot and thinking about my ideal OP live setlist (I still haven't seen Owen live, but I can dream!). Are there any less often played or unpopular songs you guys would love to hear? Mine would probably feature some Les Mouches...

Honestly, the current live setlist is awesome, but some ones I love that aren't played live as much are: - Chronicles of Sarnia (would be SO pretty live!) - Furniture - Hey Dad - He Poos Clouds - Jars of Lars (would rock on a Les Mouches set)
Would also kill to hear a bunch of the classic OP covers... specifically Peach, Plum, Pear, Pretty Good Year, and Fantasy.

Hey Dad and He Poos Clouds are big faves of mine, and the Peach, Plum, Pear cover is legendary. I wonder if it'll ever return to the setlist? You made me relisten to Chronicles of Sarnia! I bet with his current setup Owen could really blast it into ambient maximalism.

I'm working on building new sets-- Trudy is making a bunch of new projections for the additional songs I have to admit, certain of my older songs don't fit the general tone of my new set, which is more introspective. "Chronicles" and "Furniture" will not be performed any time soon... and other songs like "Song Song Song" or "...Next?", I don't really vibe with the lyrical content any more. I am working on "Hey Dad", which is actually a Les Mouches songs that was adapted for tour-performance, but it's a tough one. "Soldiers Rock" and "The Secret Seven" are coming back in a very different form, also. I'm not in a covers-y mood these days! I've wanted to cover "The Partisan" for some time-- I'm obsessed with Electrelane's version of it-- but I don't have any plans to actually make it happen.

!!
For more introspective songs, I feel like Honor The Dead or Else is an underrated gem. I'm not sure how much you still vibe content-wise with Adventure.exe or Your Light is Spent or The Sea (just due to how long ago 2005 feels), but it seems they could all work so well with a guitar set. Hey Dad would be awesome to hear. I love We Went Criminal, so I hope that it's still in the rotation (and/or on the album?).
MY personal dream setlist would usually just include screaming-- which certainly seems like a tonal discord from where we're at right now, and maybe rough on the vocal chords, so I won't hold my breath. Please Please Please might be a bit jarring in between The Secret Seven and Polar Vortex. Am curious, was there any yelling at the Les Mouches set about a month back?

I'm so excited for a potential tour (that and the new albums/remasters are keeping me going currently). Are there any estimates for when a tour might be happening, or is that completely up in the air due to current world events? (My one fear is that I'll be out of town when the tours happen, but I'm sure there will be more if I miss one haha) Yeah, I didn't expect some of the older ones like Chronicles and Furniture to ever make a new set just because they're so different from the new vibe, I just enjoy listening to them. Excited to hear about Hey Dad and The Secret Seven especially... I'm over the moon that "I Am Not Afraid" and "The Secret Seven" will be in the new live sets. Those two songs mean a lot to me and hearing them live would be a total life-highlight. I just looked up The Partisan and this is SUCH a good song?? Time to play on repeat for the next few days. It sounds like it could be hard to cover live (though might be easier depending on what instruments/band members you have on hand during the show) but would be really cool if you actually made it happen!

The Electrelane cover of "The Partisan" (as well as early Stereolab "Switched On"-era singles) was the primary inspiration for "The Riverbed", I just love that sound
