if the NDP sticks the their platform, and trust me ill never vote for them again if they dont, i fully fucking support them. you cant make broad generalizations like that, well you can, but its downright ignorant. the new conservatives have avoided talking about abortion and homosexuality. the alliance, half of the new party, stood up against every single bloody gay rights legislation. the liberals, well fuck anyone that says gordon campbell is a breath of fresh air has lost my fucking vote.

it doesnt matter what their platform is. they will all do the same things when they get voted in.

then ill stop voting, as i would disagree with the three main parties, and as much as people can fool themselves, fringe parties are just that, fringe parties.

wiley. i'm sorry that you have a pretty dim look on things.
i think the problem with 'voting' and 'politics' is that people (like you) in general think that their options are limited to 3 parties. those parties will remain (rotating) in power forever, unless we do something about it.
Saying that NDP is better or different than liberals or conservatives is simply ignorant and false. quit fooling yourself and lets TRY to make a change....even if it's one small step at a time.

its like you known me all my life. i support the NDP's platform. if they sway from this, i will find a party that is in line with my views. i will never vote for a fringe party simply to create diversity. i will never vote green, because, though i do believe in some of their policies, and its hard to find a party you can whole heartidly disagree with on every single point in their platform, i disagree with far too many. if i ever vote for a fringe party, im sure as hell not going to sacrifice my beliefs for some idiot party that will make a mockery of canada on an international level. no industrial nation will support their reforms for the UN, and giving a international body dominated by the united states is sure a great idea.
get off your high horse, im not going to settle for less just because its different.
on proportional representation. think about it. you lose local candidates. no longer can you talk to them one on one, because you vote for the party, that then chooses who will go to parliment hill.

NDP = New Conservatives = Liberals = look at the issues instead of being anti establishment both my parents are union members. my dad is a janitor, and my mother helps speacil neeeds childeren for the local school district. my family cant afford to vote liberal or conservitive and we are unsure of the stability of the green party for lower income, working class people, the ndp is the best party to chose. if not federally, then definlty provincially

and calling my view on things dim, makes you an ignorant jackass. calling your view dim, was meant to highlight your bleak look on this election and country. in other words, saying that we have limited choices....which isn't all together false. but the only way this can change is with us.

wiley, i don't know you so i have no intent to attack you or question your personal beliefs, but by your logic then the NDP wouldn't have as much influence as it does today.. it wasn't so long ago that they were once a small 'fringe' party with only a couple of seats in parliament after years of hard work... if people weren't up for creating diversity we'd all be stuck with a lame 2 party system like the US.. and i'm sure we all know how fun that would be its like you known me all my life. i support the NDP's platform. if they sway from this, i will find a party that is in line with my views. i will never vote for a fringe party simply to create diversity. i will never vote green, because, though i do believe in some of their policies, and its hard to find a party you can whole heartidly disagree with on every single point in their platform, i disagree with far too many. if i ever vote for a fringe party, im sure as hell not going to sacrifice my beliefs for some idiot party that will make a mockery of canada on an international level. no industrial nation will support their reforms for the UN, and giving a international body dominated by the united states is sure a great idea. get off your high horse, im not going to settle for less just because its different. on proportional representation. think about it. you lose local candidates. no longer can you talk to them one on one, because you vote for the party, that then chooses who will go to parliment hill.

but the only way this can change is with us. !!!not that i know too much about the election but i know plenty about being so confortable with where i'm at, that i'm afraid of change, even if i know it'll be good in the end. from what it sounds like, a lot people here have a choice to make: they could vote for what they want (green) or against what they don't want (liberal). its true that by voting for one of the other two powers canada has a larger chance of knocking the libs out of a majority gov but if you dont vote for what who trully believe in, canada will never see another party enter into that higher power that these three have right now. im not saying vote green because, like i said, i dont know too much. but vote for who you actually want to vote for. it'll will get our country further in the grand perspective. eh?
