Awhile ago my mom appologized for giving birth to me claiming that if she knew the world would be this screwed up she never would have brought me into it. In her day it wasn't such a rat race for jobs, rent was a lot cheaper, a college degree was worth more than a piece of paper to make paper air planes out of, signifigantly less crime, and you could actually afford to save for place to own in the future. This almost seemed like an insult to me. I had never experienced any world other than the one I'm in right now, so I don't find it that bad. However, when I think of the next generation I shiver at the thought of what they will have to deal with. But they may just think the same way i do now, without experiencing any other way of life they have nothing to compare it to. I guess the question is - is it wrong to bring a person into a world that is falling appart. It seems a lot like handing them a toothbrush and saying, "here clean this mess I've made of the planet for me". I feel it all comes down to perception, is ignorance bliss? Or just a way to make it through to the next day?

c'mon. at least we don't have to worry about whether or not there will be food in baby's tummy. things are significantly worse for other people in the world, we're just accustomed to a specific lifestyle. and anyways, life is suffering and every generation has their own set of problems.

i don't see how people can say thing are getting worse(what do you compare it to?) i used to think like that and it would scare the shit out of me. but now i'm thinking that things have always been somewhat fuked. if its babylon, rome or the usa(or your favorite corporation, i like walmart) or air/water pollution or poverty or desiese etc.........this could go on forever, there is always going to be shit to deal with but like neil young, "don't let it bring you down". peace ty'all though, i like being alive too.
