wondering everyone's thoughts on christmas. it's such a bizarre thing in our culture considering it's abandonment of the original context and the widespread reliance on the season for economic stability throughout the west.

i'm glad christmas is still around.. even if it isn't widely recognized as the pagan holiday celebrating the birth of the sun.. it's still fun if you don't run around like a fool stressing about everything

hmmm, i woulda clicked all of them except the baby jesus one so i didnt vote. xmas sucks shit, i deliver poinsettias, i hate them, but i like getting stuff, and family is nice, and yadda yadda...

i gotta say, sorry if this sounds sentimental, but in this day and age anything that promotes love, kindness, closeness, family, (ie so many good things that are rare in this age of cynicism etc) is not a bad thing.
christmas does promote these things, therefore whatever your religious bearing i must say i believe it is a good thing

I think that the main message we give now is just to be nice to everyone, and that everyone deserves a present on Xmas.
that's looking past the commercialisim, of course. The media message is obvious. I think all the christian stuff has fallen to the wayside, and I like to think it's probably for the better.
