I know that it is shameless self promotion. Please forgive me, but I hope that some Xiu Xiu fans would be interested in my music. Please give some of my songs a listen and give me some feedback. I'd appreciate any responses, b/c I am just starting out and wanting to know if I should stick with it. I'd love to do a split with Xiu Xiu. My site is: www.myspace.com/theinteriorleague my email is: theinteriorleague@hotmail.com

There is a rockin shoe gaze band from Iowa called MY ELECTRIC HEART. You can download their live show from the Green Room in Iowa city here. www.zodnetworks.com/~mattwilk/greenroom.htmThe 6th song is the best. The men in this band love xiu xiu. The drummer once gave Jamie the glad hand. Do you think the drummer from My Electric Heart is cool? I sure as fuck do.

Antony and the Johnsons are incredible. I know they have been mentioned many times earlier in this thread, but I just needed to voice my support. Antony's duet with Boy George ("You Are My Sister") is amazing, though I think I like "Spiralling" better (and it has Devendra Banhart, who kicks ass, so there).
Also:
The Go! Team - Thunder, Lightning, Strike (Pitchfork was dead right on how awesome this album is)
Andrew Bird and the Mysterious Production of Eggs (not as good as his previous two albums, sadly--those, especially "The Swimming Hour", are nearly perfect)
Slayer - Reign in Blood (it's taken me twenty-one years to finally get metal, and I loves it - and yes, I know it's like two decades old, but I don't care)
The Rough Guide to the Music of Indonesia (yes, again, I know it's LAME and made-for-yippies, but there's some great gamelan and other styles I frankly knew nothing [and still basically do] about)
Bonfire Madigan - Saddle the Bridge (about five years old now, but she's an amazing cellist with a great voice)
