alas, but current 93 is no more, as david tibet has announced that that personna is dead (he's a very strange guy)
if you're into current 93, i suggest his once collaborator, Death in June

He's just dropped the 'Tibet' and is going by his birth name. They're in the studio right now, and have a few shows coming up. And yes, I'm also a fan of Death in June. The only band on my list that is no more is Coil, as Jhonn Balance passed away in November.

David's just being dramatic and/or is losing his mind, but Current 93 are still a functioning band for now.

the new mu is incredible. hell, the opening track is probably one of the funniest things i've ever heard (especially the shout out to that bitch who hid her tampons backstage...)

Have Xiu Xiu ever made mention of their influence by Einstürzende Neubauten? Is there a thread devoted to this, or has this been talked about somewhere informative?? This because: a friend of mine describes Xiu Xiu as Einstürzende Neubauten + Nick Drake. I agree; as much as people hate it when you say a band is the sum of two or more other bands, it makes for a pretty good description. In fact it may be the best nonmetaphorical way to talk about music. o Never really saw much of a Neubauten influence. Personally I was always curious to know if Current 93 were an influence.
