We all love this song.. I find myself singing it all the time, yet I don't know the lyrics. Could anyone help me out? I'm having a hard time finding any good xiu xiu lyrics online.

damn people who only download and burn cds and don't buy them
sorry to go all MIAA on your asses, but xiu xiu aren't even a big band so people like you are genuinely taking away any sort of profits they might have.... ahh just shits me...
but all the same
telling your son a joke he doesn't think is funny we'll catch him unawares but what if he doesn't wear underwear??
lighting it up you were so cool your school colours black and light black giving it up she has started her life's colours black and light black
and I'm not typing out the second verse, guess you'll just have to scream along to the first until you buy it
whatever

ummmm if actually cared about xiuxiu making more money you should buy a t-shirt and download the CD. Music is free now. too true. real music is starting to become free..officially. many IDM artists i'm into are releasing full albums on their website, at no cost. www.archive.org/audio/netlabels.phpI've had a cd on order for two months, and was told the other day it had to be back ordered from a different distributor, which would take an extra 3-4 weeks. the world is too primitive in analogue contact to prefer cds to mp3s. I would care more for the support and fanbase I would receive, rather than the money. music is heading in this direction at full speed, it is becoming a real art, rather than an industry. I don't have anything against paying for albums though, I like to think that I'm paying for their instruments, instead of the music as a product. xiuxiu are nice, but on the borderline. I even read somewhere that Jamie paid for someone to get into a show, now that's heart. profits may scrape only enough for the petrol to get home, but they do not ask for any more. they have no greed, they accept, and i think overall they would prefer someone singing along with the correct lyrics at a show rather than guessing, regardless of the finance involved.

when an artist drops their other professions to focus entirely on their art, i feel they should at least make an income they can survive on from that art. i also find it horrid when an artist begins worrying more about their profit than the themes they deal with in their work. we've all seen fantastic bands killed by greed. but that doesn't mean they should have to starve. and, if an artist is having difficulty surviving because their audience is finding a free way to access their art, yes, it's great for the fans, but the fans often seem to forget that these artists are existing in a capitalist society.
what would you rather do? spend a little bit of your own money to help a band like xiu xiu continue to create music that you enjoy, or download it all for free, and see a band like xiu xiu have to break up due to a lack of financial stability?
i download mp3's as well, but when i really admire something, i try to support the artist... usually, that takes the form of buying lps and/or t-shirts from the bands when i see them live; they get more of my money that way... also, i love having records i enjoy on vinyl
so when i said "buy the cd or the record", i meant "buy the cd or the record". you obviously admire the band enough to visit their message board. why not invest a little bit in the artist?
*steps down from soapbox*

And I agree completely with all of these statements.
Good bands need to survive, and I'm happy to support them.
I just asked for a few lyrics... No need for such a debate. Regardless, thanks Veck.

hi! i was just searching for Crank Heart lyrics on the net, and ended up here. too bad that there is only the first part of it but to the discussion about buying the cd and supporting the band - yeah, of course, that sounds really nice, but for example, I'm from Slovakia, where you can't get CD for less then 800 crowns, which is about 25 $, and that is more than 5 % of the average salary here in Slovakia. and there is actually no alternative-music radio or TV station, so my only choice to discover new great bands is to download them... and to really enjoy the music, i need the lyrics as well. yes, i have remorse sometimes that i'm in fact stealing music, but i just can't convince my parents to give away the half of their salary on my musical needs well, i hope i'll find the lyrics somewhere, anyway... if someone changes his mind, i would really appreciate the second part of the lyrics

I'm pretty sure Jamie wouldn't care that you download his music. In fact, I think he'd like it. If I were him and I had a fan in Slovakia, that would be payment enough. To know that the music I put so much thought and feeling into actually reached ears so far from home.
I'm just assuming here, though.

well, when the fansite is finally back up, the lyrics for all of the albums & eps will be on there
as for being out of the country, i completely support downloading new music when one cannot access record stores... i'm just sick of kids who do have access preaching that music should be free, and ignoring the fact that musicians are getting shafted
and i'm guessing jamie would be supportive of people in other countries downloading his work- that does seem pretty cool, but i also know that he has come on this board himself and spoken out against people who only download music and never buy it
as for the full lyrics for crank heart, this is from the lp:
-Telling your son a joke -he doesn't think is funny -"We'll catch him unawares -but what if he doesn't wear underwear." -lighting it up -you were so cool -your school colors -black and light black -giving it up -she has started -her life's colours -black and light black -getting your hair from under your bed -breaking your fingers -getting killed by a car -before you can make him pay
if i had known my initial bitchy comment would have started all of this, i would have just posted the lyrics... :-}
