Fucking Brilliant. It was so good, I didn't even really miss Fabulous Muscles which was not played. I'm so much more of a fan now that I've seen them live. Mr Jamie Stewart looked quite angelic, though it seems that angels don't always have their best times on earth. The guy was visually broken up after the concert. It was such raw emotion. I read a review where someone called him pretentious and horrid. The only thing horrid is that the emotion in xiu xiu's songs are niether contrived nor exaggerated, and that these songs are from a heart thats raw and bleeding. I can't bear to think that people listen to Xiu Xiu as almost like their token fag band. Apistat Commander was so vital, so stand before a crowd and flip the fuck out without caring. It was the moment before you are committed into an asylum. I've been there once when I saw the world I had created disintegrate before my eyes. I know this mans heart on his sleeve is not performance art, it's nothing but what it is, emotion from the heart. That's the only horrid part. The pain is real. There were a couple of rediculously drunk underage metrosexuals that really did ruin a lot of in between song moments, but I think I could have appreciated this show in any form.

Jamie said nothing.. but he did sing "shut up, shut up" The venue, Modified Arts, is an old house, maybe 2000 square feet with a stage that's 6" off the ground with no backstage. max capacity is like 250. It was a *very* intimate concert. Sorry I didn't take pictures.

also, i dont realy think that jamie is an unhappy person. i think that what he does is true and from the heart, but, its nothing more than an emotional outlet, like any other art.
