Okay, so how did everyone enjoy the show? I really thought it was an amazing experience. The Carribean did great, and it was so great seeing Xiu Xiu live. When Jaime shrieked "I LOVE THE VALLEY OH!!!!!!!" it tore through me. I'd be interested to hear everyones input on the show. I'm just really excited because I got to hug Jaime before the show (I think he may have been a little freaked out. I ran up to him, asked him if he was Jaime Stewart, and he said yes. I told him he "fucking ruled" and he told me I ruled too and we hugged. haha, I'm so lame and no one needed to hear that. So just tell me all how you enjoyed the show, and if you're upset we didn't get the encore <3 Jamie Long AIM: SummerLeftUsDry

yes, the show was fantastic. two new songs were played (i'm assuming one of them is 'fleshettes') and jennifer lopez KILLED
what the fuck was with the people stage left? i referred to that area as "the special corner"
probably not in correct order:
(new song) over over suha (new song) clowne towne jennifer lopez bunny gamer apistat commander crank heart

the show was incredible. I was able to talk to caralee a little before the show and she was very sweet to listen to my drivel I thought the first song was great, I asked her after the show whether that was the song that was coming out on vinyl soon, and she said it was a different one and would probably be on the next album. it would be wonderful if someone taped the show. They were excellent.

i was taping the show, but unfortunately, something happened to my MD recorder after the third song, and i lost everything after that. the quality wasnt exceptional, but i will be sharing those tracks on soulseek (name: kur1ousoranj) by later today, if you want to check them out. with or without the recording, the show was absolutely phenomenal, especially those new songs, which just blew me away.

someone posted some pictures here: www.livejournal.com/community/_xiuxiu/21784.html#cutid1. when jamie was hitting away at the symbals, then later playing the synth and keyboard at once- very cool. aardappel: I would love to hear those songs, I'll message you on soulseek when I see you. and stacie, thank you so much for putting the show together!

thanks for the link to the photos!
i love setting up shows--it makes me happy to have music in cool spaces that are not clubs, and where people listen to the music and don't talk through the concerts.
if there are things that people like/dislike about the shows i'm setting up, tell me! that way i can either keep doing those things, or figure out better ways to do things.
i don't have money to do promo (i'd rather the performers make as much money as there is!) so if you like the shows i'm setting up, please tell your friends and bring new people to the shows! the things i do are self-perpetuating: happy performers = happy listeners, and vice-versa.
also, if there is anyone you're dying to see live, let me know--i can always ask people to play if i think that there will be enough listeners to cover costs. especially bands on the east coast, because it is not difficult to travel here.
again, my thanks to all of you who were at the show. you were a great crowd, and a TIDY crowd. it only took about half an hour to clean up the whole venue!
cheers! stacie

Well you did an amazing job stacie. Congrats. I'd love to see Thee More Shallows, if that would be possible. I know they're doing a show with Xiu Xiu like, WAY out somewhere else, but I'd love for them to come here, if that's possible. <3 Jamie

hey stacie thanks so much for putting this show on and i am so excited about the upcoming mt eerie/calvin/woelv show. it would be cool if you would book world/inferno friendship society someplace. the last time they were here they played a sold-out show downstairs at the middle east with the dresden dolls. i don't know how many people would come to a headlining show in boston for them, probably 100 or so. also it would be awesome if you could book The Evens, ian mackaye's new band. i know they played one show a while back but i didn't know about it until too late. that show would be packed too. kuriousoranj, thanks for uploading what you could of the show. what is an ape file?
