where could an outsider like meself purchase a ticket for the London show? I'd pay at the door but seeing as I'm travelling along way and its xiu xiu thats playing, I'd rather be safe than sorry!

I am traveling from America for the summer and dont want to miss the show. I also would be interested in getting some tickets beforehand. Also, is the bar called the Needles Wine Bar near Portland Place? Any info would be great. thanks.

needles (aka needles wine bar) = 5 clipstone st, london W1 (off great portland st). i very much doubt that advance tickets will be available -- but if you have a long journey then try emailing info@upsettherhythm.co.uk to see whether the people putting on the show will let you reserve a place. my advice would be to not freak out about being able to get in & to just to arrive in good time: the place has a 120 capacity so it's not really tiny (although try not to be late: there's no stage, so if it's full it can be hard to see anything). www.upsettherhythm.co.uk for more info

I've pretty much gone on the assumption this gig is over 18s... can anyone confirm that for me?

Probably. I've read some where that doors open at 7, also there's support from a band called crack: war.

Just to let you all know; There are no advance tickets available for the show, but if you definitely know you are going to come and are worried about getting in then email tipton@southern.com with your name and you will be on the guaranteed entry list. This list will run out at about 8. Daniel's advice was very sensible. We put Hella on here a few months ago and everybody that wanted to get in did. We're not sure how busy this show'll be. The venue has a floating capacity based on how the bands set up. We have hired a stage so we think that we can get 140 people in. The doors will be at 7pm-1am. It is a wine bar, so theoretically its over 18, but you will probably get in if you aren't.(I often do the door and I don't check) Just don't try to buy drinks. We've used this venue before and it gets real hot so we let people come in and out of the venue. Support comes form Crack:We are Rock, who are from San Francisco and are on Tigerbeat6, and its their first London show too (www.crackcave.com). Also, we've got a Brighton based noise act called The Polly Shang Kuan Band, and a local act called The Poverty Jetsets. Bands have to finish at 11, but there'll be DJs afterwards. Sorry there seems to have been so much confusion over the show. Come and say hi to any of us in the Upset the Rhythm collective! Claire www.upsettherhythm.co.uk

Thanks for coming to the show. All of us at Upset! the Rhythm enjoyed it and we hope you guys enjoyed it too. Xiu Xiu were, as expected, amazing!! So, we hope that they'll play more shows next time, it seems a shame so many people missed out!
Thanks Again!!
Quick question, how do you think Jamie Stewart discovered he could do those things with his voice?

Absolutely great gig, bloody warm though! Loved Poverty Jetsets, loved C:WAR, XiuXiu were amazing. Yes, slightly disturbed at how he found out he could do the dog noises from "sad pony guerilla girl".
