does anyone have any live shows (cd or mp3) other than the three shows on soulseek? those are, "gallery", "oct 9", and "austin, tx. emo's".
also, does anyone have any old xitsj or ibopa mp3's other than "my very private map", "ballads for ben padrone", or "squids: obsession and devotion"?

I don't know man, but you've got my gratitude for the Yahoo group you do! The IBOPA version of HIVES was... enlightening. I never, never would have guessed that's how that song started out. Might I sugest that for the next batch, you complete the Jamie solo show and the oct. 9th show that were recently partially up. I was able top get the first five tracks of the oct 9th show and three songs from live at emo's. Maybe you could do a combo of tracks from both to complete the concerts. Just a thought, whatever you put up will be appreciated! Are any other Xiu Xiu songs originally from Ibopa?

the only xiu xiu songs i can think of that originally came from one of the earlier bands were:
ibopa (xiu xiu): sad girl (sad pony guerilla girl) hives (hives hives)
xitsj (xiu xiu) helsabot (helsabot) i love the valley (i luv the valley OH!)
i'm probably forgetting something, but that's what i remember for now

"sad girl" and "helsabot" are both more pop oriented than the xiu xiu versions. i don't remember "i love the valley" though because i'm afraid to play my vinyl and i'm still trying to find the mp3

XITSJ did a version of Sad Girl, too. I like it alot, the horns are a great touch.

somewhat on this topic, thanks for having all those mp3s hosted on soulseek, was nearly impossible to find anything except you had it all and also, is IBOPA an acronym? or is it just one word?

The 10intheswear jar version of "I love the Valley" isn't too structurally different. The recording is worse (obviously). and the "OH" is not quite as rockin' as on the new xiu xiu record. I swear to god, that OH!!!! really really hits it. You fuckin did it Jamie. I could study em' more closely, the lyrics and order are a little different.

my userid on slsk is dr_strangelove13
as for the new suha, i'm assuming it's jamie solo, since he was touring solo at that time, but i'm not for sure on that
