i have listend to the whole thing beggining to end only once, and it seems to be OK. everyone says its better than knife play, but from my over impression i strongly dissagree. ill listed to "a promise" a few more times to get use to it.

i love it. i listen to it through a couple times in a row sometimes. it seems short. but i think knife play is a better album, it's more songish and definitely more meaty than a promise.

uh, what's meaty supposed to mean? ummmmmmmm, there's more sound to chomp down on. like, it's a feast of space, texture, and layers.

kindred - listen to it again... and again, and again. once you get familiar with the songs, it becomes a really good album.

a promise is the xiu xiu album i listen to more often. i love knife play but the dynamics of a promise are more direct. it's more intimate and yet extreme..these are the qualities i find interesting from them. all around a more solid album. -g
