Happy New Years Everyone!
And what a better way to celebrate the new year than by ordering a brand new Xiu Xiu/ This Song is... 7". Yes, without a further adoo, they're finally here!
by "here" i mean in my living room, they're compltely finished. All the 7" sleeves have been silk screened, and numbered. The inserts are in full color and are copies of hand written lyrics by Jamie from Xiu Xiu and Freddy from This Song is a Mess... The 7"s are limited to 300 purple colored, 400 black. We will be only be able to sell 200 the colored through mailorder and at 2 selected south bay record stores, the rest are going to Jamie and Freddy. these will not be in stores in the coming month, only the black ones will.
you can order the colored copies right now. The black copies should be in stores within a month. Unfortunately, the website is not yet done, and we haven't really figured out the whole paypal service. we hope to in the next week. but if your super eager there's a few things you can do.
1.Send Check or Money order to: Oedipus Records
918 Amapola Ave
Torrance, Ca 90501
(make checks or money order out to Patrick Enzor)
2. If you live in the Los Angeles Area, there will be 2 South Bay record stores who will be carrying limited amounts of purple copies. these record stores are
Scooters Records
200 Pier Ave Suite 1
Hermosa Beach, Ca
Go Boy Records
1310 S. Pacific Coast Highway
Redondo Beach, Ca
3. Wait for our paypal service to be completely active. we have our internet savy friend working on it in his spare time, and how to connect it with our web page. this might take a couple days to a week, or whoever knows. so maybe the snail mail option isn't bad.
the black vinyl copies should be hitting stores around LA within the next couple of weeks, and our distro will be taking 150 to be distirbuted around the country. but when these 7"s are gone they're gone. These are super collectores items, cause they were all made by the artists and us, the record label.
anyways, enough banter, any questions feel free to e mail
