So this tour hasn't swung through my fair city of Boston yet (will Sunday, though), but I'm told by a friend in MN that there's a tour CD-R that Jamie's selling called Thanks Japan!. Apparently, it's "just a handmade cdr w/ about nine minutes of field recordings and dialogue on it." But he says the packaging is very nice, with string, coins and other sundries all taped and glued on.
At $10, I guess it's for completists only, but I thought I'd give the heads up.

yeah, I'm not able to make it to any shows on this tour.. I wonder if we can figure out a way to get these, I'm super interested.... Perhaps someoen who is going to an upcoming show could buy an extra one to sell to me?

Yeah, if someone could pick me up an extra one I would pay them back handsomely.

people, just be aware that there's no music on this cd and besides the case at least, to me it wasn't really worth getting beyond to support jamie, of course.
should've got myself a tshirt instead.

Ok, so the show was tonight -- alright show, not great by any means. The opener, Ilya, was ATROCIOUS. I won't even waste time talking about them. Jamie seemed a little preocupied with saving his voice and was taking swigs of some awful looking liquid in between every song. He broke a string in the middle of the set as well and apologized profusely while changing it. Set included "Suha," "Fab. Muscles," "Sad Girl," etc etc.
About Thanks Japan! -- it's a nice little artifact. Sounds like just field recordings and brief interviews with locals during Jamie's time in Japan. It's not something that anyone's going to listen to more than twice, for sure, but it's a neat little thing to have, since no two copies are alike and each case is hand-glued and unique. So yeah -- nice to hear, but 9:29 of field rec's for $10 is something the casual fan could prolly do without.

Ha! Thanks for even spending the time to reply, Jamie. Now I feel like a total dick.
