Oh you all know they should cover Shiffons-"one fine day" ("one fine day you're gonna want me for your girl) or perhaps "It's my party" (and I fucking cry if I want to). Definetly some girl band or motownish.

How about like "Song to the Siren" by Tim Buckley, that's a good one.
Maybe something by Sun Ra, that'd be a hot jam.

lol... i just imagined jamie's pleading voice singing "only in your underwear", or even "if fashion is your trade, then when you're naked, i guess you must be employed" :)

I'm reviving this! I know it's kinda geeky but I love it!
Ok, my dream cover is "In a Lonely Place" by New Order, the b-side on the Ceremony 12". OR it would be neat if Xiu Xiu released a split 12" of Ceremony with someone else covering "In a Lonely Place." It's such a melancholy song..."How I wish you were here with me now..."

aside from something with a pop structure to it, i'd like to see them do an instrumental cover of a classical song... like arvo part's "summa" or wojciech kilar's "orawa"

since The Blankket already made a cover of this that everyone thinks is xiu xiu, this is either a horrible or a fabulous idea :-}

I live with The Blankket.
Around the time we recorded that cover we were talking Jamie Stewart voice all the time.
Like: "ican'tbelieveitican'tbelieve IT! STEVEN! pick.up.the AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA phone-phone!"
And: "Pad Thai again. This is the last supper (!!!)WHERE?!??!? ARE?!?!?! YOU?!!??!? GROCERY STORE?!?!?!?"
Anyways that might have had something to do with the Xiu Xiu-ness of The Blankket's top 40 smash.
