The violin solo in the middle is pretty orgasmic, and I'm not just saying that 'cause it made me jiz in my pants. ^I am in complete agreement

I find it kinda funny there are three videos (recorded in the past week) of 'The Great Elsewhere' and only one video of the new material!
Still love Heartland, but I'm hungry for some In Conflict.

Agreed about the violin solo. I also really love the dissonant riff at about 1:30 in the video. I remember reading here that Owen was planning to include a lot of dissonance on this album, and if it's along those lines, then I can't wait to hear more (well, even if it's not, I can't wait to hear more).

So far it seems like that YouTube channel got footage of most (if not all, fingers crossed) of the Owen performances, though he's uploading them at the same time he's uploading footage of other bands at ATP, so it may be quite a while before it's all available. I'm excited; I really want to hear The Sky Behind the Flag.
I also recommend checking out the performances by The National he's uploaded; they're terrific.

Woah, he made an arpeggiating patch for Song For Five Or Six? Niiice.

The detuned chord in that sequence is really something. I like how it's appeased, ignored, deleted, reintroduced throughout. Must make looping interesting, and is a pretty effective device for messing with meter (like the solo does), and harmonics. I imagine this is very different on record, I'll admit that the chord isn't settling with me very well, I don't feel the elements of the song unified on the recording. Don't get it.

I'm pretty sure the ending could go for 10 minutes and it would be the best song ever. The oddly tuned arpeggio chord didn't sit well with me until I heard the whole song. Now it makes sense.

The pizzicato rhythm is super reminiscent to that in his rendition of Odessa... I love it. Also quite intrigued to hear the album version!

Indeed, Nicole, the Odessa similarity was the first thing I noticed about Five and Six. And yeah, I feel like the studio version of it is truly going to blow me away.
