So I just looked up trains - £111, I thought that might be do-able if I could find a really cheap hotel. So I searched travelodges (usually being the cheapest by far) and saw THIS!!!!! Flabbergasted, I thought "what in the world could be going on in Cardiff that weekend???" A quick google search told me ONE DIRECTION ARE THE REASON!!!!! They're playing a show so every hotel in the whole city has quintupled in price... umm, ok. £150 for a show I could afford at a push, but not almost £300! And the worst part is I bet this is going to be a UK tour, and that was the only night I could've made! I have stuff on at uni til the 4th June (unmissable stuff like my grad ball and going to a cheese and wine where I'm told my degree classification). I'm going to visit my friend in Turkey on the 8th June (that was the only week flights were cheap the whole summer - first time I've ever booked a holiday that doesn't involve gigs! ) So basically the only days in that period I'm able to travel are the 5th and 6th... and I can't book Field Day because they won't tell me what time Owen's playing. (I can only afford to sleep in London on the Friday night, not the Sat, so I'd need to head home that afternoon!) I really hope Cardiff is just a one off - the thought of missing a whole UK tour is just too upsetting!!!!!

I guess B+Bs will be the same as well? Yeah everywhere's the same, unless I stay miles out! But the good news is I finally got a reply from Field Day They say Owen's playing 3.15-4.15 so it might be possible for me to make it there and back in a day! I'll maybe wait a week or two to see what else is announced though, because I might be able to travel on the 3rd or 1st of June! I'm trying not to go crazy with my money because I'm hoping to make the two solo shows in Germany! (Torn between wanting to hear the new songs and wanting to hear all the In Conflict songs with the band one last time before the era's over! )

really unfortunate that they chose to say "Arcade Fire's Owen Pallett" -_____- I tend to take the view that if it gets 1 person to go because of the association and he/she goes on to love the music for what it is then it's served it's purpose.

Cardiff date has been moved to 3rd June now by the looks of it.. might be some cheaper accomodation And guess what - I'd just booked a hotel for the 5th!!! £40, 15 mins away by train, trains ran til 00.30, the hotel was right next to the station... I was about to recommend it to everyone! Luckily it's refundable though! I'm not sure if I can make the 3rd because I have to go to uni to get my degree results on the 4th and I've no idea what time - Cardiff is really far away! :/ (Although it looks like there's a morning flight so it might be possible!) But good news - I'm going to Stratford Upon Avon! Possibly Coventry but I'd need to make sure I can get back to Glasgow in time for my grad ball... (yes I'm considering Coventry the night before and Cardiff the night after! ) And I probably can't make Field Day now I won't be down south on the 5th But I'll look into it properly over the weekend!
