Great show in Helsinki last night! I got home at 4am and just got up but I thought I should write something here when it's still fresh in my mind.
It was amazing to hear the new songs live and see the band. The last time Owen played the club he performed with Thomas, so it wasn't a complete solo show back then either. This band, however... wow! The drums add so much energy to the show. It was really fun, "The Riverbed" was phenomenal. Hearing "Tryst with Mephistopheles" live was one of my favorite moments as well. Another highlight of the show was when the audience persuaded Owen to play "Please Please Please" (or most of it, anyway). During the encore we also heard "Peach Plum Pear" and like the last time (I can't believe it was over four years ago), the show ended with "Fantasy". That song does make you dance.
No "I Am Not Afraid", unfortunately, but the song might have made me particularly emotional, so maybe it was for the best, heh.
This was my fourth time seeing Owen but it was the first time that I had the opportunity to say something to him after the show. Thank you to the girl who asked me to take a picture of her with Owen, otherwise I might not have had the nerve to approach him. Owen said that he'd be back next summer, best news of the night!
I was at the London show last night (it was absolutely amazing, loved all configurations of the performance, thank you!), and I was interested in getting one of the piano/vocal song books, but was told they had already sold out on the tour Is there any chance more will be available on the webstore at any stage?Who told you that? I asked the guy who was selling t-shirts (who was lovely!) and he said that Owen had finished scoring it, but that the printers they approached weren't able (or refused to?) print it in time for the European tour. So I don't think they actually exist yet. He did say the plan was still ultimately to release them at some point and was like 'I'll make sure Owen tweets about it when they're out', so I hope he does because I'd absolutely love to own one. Owen confirmed this. They weren't ready for the European tour but apparently they should be available online eventually.
