Hey guys
No real news to report. I'm playing Schumannfest in Dusseldorf next weekend, and I plugged in my shit and started rehearsing "He poos clouds" again-- which somebody might've once noticed was pretty deeply inspired by Dichterliebe, just compare "The Pooka sings" with the final poem, but I digress--
There's an interesting thing that happens when I'm suddenly playing "Song song song" for the first time in three years, in earnest. I've let a lot of that stuff go in writing new things. No simple 4/4 patterns, relatively scaled down superpolyphony, you know?
Anyway, the "no news" to report is simply this. I'm hard at work on a film score that is only Mostly instrumental, there are lots of songs on it, and if it's worth listening to (independent of the film) I'll be putting it in your hands.
Album proper, you know, Album #4, it is already sounding... well, it sounds great to my ears, and those who are hearing it come together are excited as well. It's too early to say it'll be "my best record" but I've had somebody say "these songs make your old songs sound like crap." (For whatever that's worth.)
But yeah, it's been recorded to tape and there are new (to me) things on it-- a drum kit, i.e.-- so I'm still a ways off but sit tight and stick with me.
What else? Oolong tea, daily yoga, 5km runs, Beaujolais, spring is here and summer is coming. Let me know if you need anything

---still, very excited for this new release, the few live renditions I heard on Youtube a little bit ago were more than promising!

kinda overlooked that info, would have been a mere 4 hours drive and just came back from Düsseldorf, where i have spent the last weekend and saw posters for this concert everywhere....
